AFL News: Rory Lobb Seeks Trade from Western Bulldogs

Lobb Promised Key Forward Role, but Delivers Request

In the final minutes of the Continental Tyres AFL trade period, a bombshell announcement rocked the football world: Rory Lobb has been traded to the Western Bulldogs.

A Tumultuous Journey

This move marks the fourth time Lobb has requested a trade during his AFL career. In 2018, he departed GWS Giants for Fremantle, only to later request a move to St Kilda in 2022. The Bulldogs were his third club, but again, his tenure appears to be short-lived.

When Lobb initially joined the Bulldogs, he was promised a key forward role in a lineup that could contend for a premiership. However, with the emergence of youngsters Aaron Naughton and Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, Lobb's playing time has been limited.

According to reports, Lobb will ask for a trade to a Victorian club at the end of the 2024 season. He will don the number seven guernsey for the Bulldogs in 2023 before potentially starting a new chapter elsewhere.
